My story
Custom Woodwork
Custom carpentry & sawmilling in central Ohio. It all started back in 2016, just doing odds and ends for friends and family, The Wood Shop began coming alive as something I wanted to strive for as a future small business. Something to call my own.
In 2018 I formed The Wood Shop ltd. I bought a TimberKing 1600 sawmill and from there just started cutting open logs. I love the smell and the look every time I cut into a log and add finish to a furniture piece. From tree to table I am in charge of every step in the process. There is something so fulfilling being able to take beloved trees of homeowners and turning a rough situation into a conversation piece for their home.
The Wood Shop is partnered with Hardwick Tree Care. Nearly all of the logs we use come from the Hardwicks. They are instrumental in providing the wood for my shop. Check out hardwicktreecare.com for affordable, professional tree care.

Sawmilling
If you had a beloved tree come down or just have some beautiful logs you want made into lumber for furniture give us a call. We have a TimberKing 1600 complete hydraulic mobile sawmill. We also have an Alaskan Sawmill. Combined we are able to mill any log that is up to 42” in diameter. We have done work all around the state of Ohio and will travel even further if necessary. We are also happy to quote jobs.
Custom Furniture

My Story
Where It All Began
When I was 4 years old, I was given a hammer, nails, and wood and started putting the nails into the wood with the hammer to the best of my ability. On my first try I blackened my left thumb.
At seven I started helping my dad with little projects, remodeling jobs, and so on. By 11 I was turning pens, and at 16 I started working for residential contractors from my home town of Ashland Ohio. From there I went to Ohio State for Construction Systems Management, worked at 400+ apartment complex, worked as a carpenter and project lead on custom specialty vehicles, and a commercial construction company. I am thankful I have had several different experiences that has helped me shape who I am and what I can do. I have always loved working with my hands and always will. I am blessed I am now doing it for myself and my family.
